Some of the best beauty blogs are by Muslim women. We ask how they reconcile make-up and the hijab
Muslim beauty blogs are on the rise, their posts tackling, among other things, how young British Muslim women reconcile wearing the hijab, or headscarf, with beauty and cosmetics. “I find it confusing,” says the Muslim comedian Shazia Mirza, who doesn’t wear a hijab. “How can women cover their hair as a sign of modesty and then plaster their face in make-up? You’re either modest or you’re Rihanna. You can’t have it both ways.” Read more on here.

My second visit to Paris was lovelier than my first. The city has beautiful architecture, delicious food (particularly pastries) and timeless fashion sense. The weather is pretty much like London, perhaps with less rain, but still grey and cold.

The reason the internet can be such a great thing is that it allows people to connect, not only virtually but in person. The Langston Hues Meet & Greet was one of those things, a gathering full of lovely people.
During the event he introduced his Modest Street Fashion work, which is truly inspiring and admirable. Basma, Yusuf (from Mr. Aptumi) and myself introduced ourselves and our work to everyone. It was a fun afternoon getting to know each other and just feeding off of each other's inspirations. I feel blessed to meet and come across such vibrant people.

Once again, I got the chance to visit pretty Paris last year. It was at the end of spring, but it felt a lot like winter. Somehow in 2013, winter didn't wanna go away, although I love winter, almost 6 months of it seems rather tiring and overwhelming.
Nevertheless, I had a wonderful time with my sister and enjoyed the city differently, with Disneyland Paris & the fashionable side of Paris.
