Playing tourist in my own city is always fun! These pictures were taking on a day out with Anandia the designer from I.K.Y.K

This was in May, almost June, but it looks like it's winter, doesn't it? I was all red, pink and more pink with a splash of black! I wore something bright and colourful trying hard to make it obvious that it was summer…but then again, I'm wearing a red winter jacket, so that defeats the purpose of summer!
After May, we in London, had a surprisingly pleasant summer though.

I love this girl! Meet Ananadia, the innovative designer from the fashion label I.K.Y.K (I Know You Know)
She's lovely, bubbly, loves to use the word 'super' a lot and is such an inspiration to me and to many! Highly positive, enthusiastic and so driven in her work and ambitions.

Learn more about the designer and her minimal yet sophisticated fashion brand on Aquila Style.

I had a lot of fun, played tourist and had delicious food with Ananadia. Good times! Missing her already and can't wait to visit Jakarta one day!

Winnie Détwa has a stunning style and I am in love, more specifically love the deep plum lipsticks she wears during her favourite season; fall (or as we call it autumn in England).

Here is my take on one of her look. I can say one thing; it surely isn't my style to rock turbans, and is suited for some more than others.

Ps. this was taking last year October 2012…I'm just a scatter brain, busy and forgetful. Didn't get a chance to post it up beforehand. Ah well!

A belated Eid outfit. I've been feeling the neutral and dark winter hues lately, from dark plum lipsticks to neutral greys.

I'm wearing one of my A/W '13 scarves collection from ZINAH (el oh el, makes me laugh each time I write my own name!). It's a silk velvet scarf embellished with wool flowers & Swarovski Elements. For more info, orders etc go on www.zinahns.com

This autumn, I've fallen in love with deep red/wine lipsticks. I love the fact that I can wear it on its own and voila! This one is from Ellis Faas (Creamy lips in Deep Plum Wine/ L102)

Ok guys…I'm sick and tired of writing, just look at the pictures.

Spent an afternoon exploring The Cloud Pavilion by Sou Fujimoto at the Serpentine Gallery in South Kensington. What I love about it that it's not just an architectural piece that you look at but can also interact with it by climbing up following designated arrows.

It was even perfecting having the architect Aishah Mokhtar visit the exhibition and write a fantastic review on it in COAZ October pilot issue. Always best to have someone who's an expert in the field to explain and review it. Thank you Aishah for being a wonderful guest editor at COAZ magazine.

The October pilot issue of COAZ magazine has a japanese theme, from mythical creatures to hidden Japan in London, you can find out much more. Get your copy!

I visited the Japan Foundation in central London to find out more about Japanese artists who use silk and textile in their art work, I've learned more about the art eduction in Kyoto and experienced a glimpse of the rich culture through a fascinating talk.

My outfit was inspired by modern Japan, minimal, simply and somewhat futuristic in terms of textile.
I've falling in love with this sweater ever since I first saw it in Zara few months ago, the fact that there's a huge Z in the centre makes it even more special ;)
I'm wearing head to toe Zara (why aren't they sponsoring me yet?!). Hijab by ZINAH

Ps. my glasses aren't for fashion, but prescribed ones because I'm blind as a bat! This is perhaps the first time I'm blogging an outfit pic with me wearing my glasses haha

I'm highly impressed by how creative Zibzih is. She is talented, can do anything from fine art to baking beautiful cupcakes. Then I asked her if she can do henna…I don't even have to start explaining on how good this girl is! Check out her blog The Curious Orchid

Seriously did an incredible job with the henna; a dragon, not your usual henna design, but a dragon wrapped around my arm! IF I could get a tattoo, I so would, but can't so I shan't…

I love the mythical creature, I don't really believe in zodiac signs, but I'm happy to know that I was born in year of the dragon *cough* *cough*
There's a whole article on the dragon and it's influence in the fashion industry, check it out in the October pilot issue of COAZ magazine!

These three ladies are more than co-workers, they are really good friends. Meet the lovely trio that help and helped me make COAZ happen; Alye Begum, Hafsa Issa-Salwe and Noura A. Sheikh.

Noura I've met almost six years ago during college in La Swap; she's got so much swag, I'm starting to believe that she must have been born in the urban landscapes of New York. But that's really not the case, just the vibe one gets from her; she's a fellow Londoner!

Alye & Hafsa I met online…stranger danger! I've met Alye through twitter almost two years ago, but we are twins separated at birth and a single soul that has been split into two. She's my BFF; as cheesy as this may sound, deal with it! I've got too much love for Alye (pronounced Ellie)

Hafsa is a fellow blogger, a wonderful girl that I have a lot in common with and I wasn't aware of that before. We both went to the same college; La Swap, but never knew until this year. We have a lot of mutual friends, including Grey Carnegie! We both live in the same London borough, and apparently I lived in a close area to her five years ago…it is a small world! Remember our collaboration? That's still ongoing…

You can find out more about these amibitious women on the September pilot issue. Get your copy now online!

The questions to the video are random, the answers are all spontaneous and completely unprepared…what's funny is none of the girls (except me) knew of the questions before filming, nor were they filmed at the same time, but some of the answers are the same!  Can you spot the same answers?

We are iPhone addicts for sure…taking an iPhone to a deserted island? Funny! Battery is most likely gonna die within hours…Surprisingly we share the same love for Zara (no, we did not know of each other's answers). Enjoy the video!

Once again I have disappeared from civilisation; virtual civilisation that is…blogging world to be exact! I keep telling myself that I should go back to scheduling blog posts, to keep it rolling, but then something always gets in the way.

This time, major things got in the way. If you've been following me on instagram, twitter and my facebook page, you are well aware of the things I've been doing the past two months. I've always wanted to run a magazine, more precisely a 'bookazine' and I finally had a chance to team up with three lovely ladies to make this a reality.

We've already launched two pilot issues that are available on my website here: http://www.zinahns.com/category/coaz

Obviously, I'll be doing more blog posts relating to COAZ (Confession of a Zaraholic), the story behind it, the team and everything you need to know. This is just a blog post to assure you (blog readers) that I have not abandoned my beloved blog!

The other major thing is the launch of my scarves collection! Yes! Finally! I've started with the promo collection and yes I will be talking more about it on coming blog posts…I don't wanna make this blog post longer than necessary.

Welcoming winter with this outfit post that is long overdue. This was taking in Disneyland Paris in March 2013.

Fashion Editorial for COAZ Magazine September 2013. This was an independent project to launch two trial digital magazines focusing on modesty fashion, muslim women and themes surrounding these two subjects.

It was a pilot magazine, interactive PDF with active links, we had J.Crew, Reiss and Ted Baker amongst others advertising with us. It was mainly focusing on modest fashion, beauty and creativity. We encouraged freelance writers, designers & boutiques to join us and work with us. Any designers or boutique would have had the option to list their products with us with little commission.
Confession of a Zaraholic was in association with ZINAH. Confession of a Zaraholic was an online boutique consisting of handpicked modest clothes presented in the style of a digital fashion magazine for the modern Muslim woman.
The pages of COAZ included high fashion editorials with purchasable one-off fashion content & products via worldwide delivery.
The new digital magazine offered women worldwide the latest trends, whimsical stories, distinctive beauty features, guides to hidden treasures and much more. The digital magazine was fully interactive, allowing readers to visit hyperlinks without leaving the pages of COAZ. The online boutique includes clothes, bags & accessories.
